Day 14/15 – Adventure

So much can happen in 15 days. It’s crazy that God has blessed us with this little girl for half a month already. Where has the time gone? I now know this is what parents talk about, to soak in ever moment because it goes by so fast.
Yesterday was an adventure day for Jeremy and I. While Ryman was in surgery we navigated the shuttle system for lunch and then a co-worker took us to dinner and we got to experience the chaos of the subway system. It was a much needed escape from the hospital setting. Thanks to some of my AMEC family, Scott and Jay for the distraction.
Ryman came through surgery like the champ she is. They had to give her insulin afterwards because her blood suger was high. She came off the ventilator a few hours after surgery. Her ammonia levels were back up in the 40’s after surgery but at 2am this morning it was 11! That’s the lowest we have seen it. The prayers are covering her.
The liver transplant coordinator from Georgetown came to see us and talked through the process. She was so nice and so informative. We got lots of questions answered.
Today she is back on bolus feeds. Hoping to start condensing it some more today.

So much love, Brandy

  1. It may be difficult, but God will never ask you to do something and then not give you the power to do it. Whatever tests you’re facing, you have the grace to pass them.

  3. Jeremy and Brandy, Still watching your precious one’s progress and continuing to pray for her. You two are doing an awesome job. Be encouraged. I love your posts and keeping up with Ryman. She certainly is beautiful. We can’t wait to see her in person. RB and Tila Dunn (Clare’s Dad and Mom.
