Today Ryman is 4 months old!! Was hoping we wouldn’t spend this one in the hospital but at least her ammonia level this morning is 43! We have to stay in PICU until Monday because of the central line. But I am OK with that as long as she is stable. We are having issues with her heart rate like we were at Vandy the last time she was on maintenance fluids and Ammonul. Proof that it is either the fluids or the Ammonul that caused it last time. This time we will come off of the fluids first and see if her heart rate drops back down to normal ranges. We will start back on full feeds, 1.4g/kg of protein today and see if the ammonia stays low. Tomorrow night at midnight we will stop feeds and go on Lipids so we can get the PICC line in on Monday morning.
Even though it feels like we are kind of starting all over again, I know that God has kept her safe once again.
“Faith is not simply a patience that passively suffers until the storm is past. Rather, it is a spirit that bears things – with resignations, yes, but above all, with blazing, serene hope.”
So we wait patiently.
This was right before the vomit. Sneezing, yawning, smiling and trying to get her foot. Then vomit! Poor girl. But look at how adorable she is!
