We made it. Got into DC around 8 last night. Immediately we went straight to the hospital. Children’s national is a lot different then Vanderbilt. Not saying better or worse just different. We were both so use to the staff and building that it’s a little hard to adjust.
Within 20 min of being here we meet one of the geneticist Dr. Lanpher. It’s great to see them being so proactive with our little girl. We stayed till about 10 last night and headed out to go get checked in at Cory and Julie’s place.
We can’t even begin to express how much they are a blessing to us. Had a room set up and pictures of us and Ryman to make us feel like we were home. Even had a can of pineapples for us. Bet you didn’t know that pineapple are the universal sign for welcome either. Sat up and chatted with them for a while and got the low down on what to expect traffic wise in the AM
At about 11 we got a call from our nurse Christine. Ryman had been moved to another room that was quarantined because she had tested positive for MRSA a bacteria infection found in hospitals. REALLY…. Little girl can’t catch a brake. She’s doing great and the only reason they moved her was so she didn’t spread it.
Excited to talk to all the doctors today and hear the plan!
